The Rock Creek Riders had a muddy fun time at the rodeo!
(Taylor’s 28th annual Rodeo Aug. 28th & 29th, 2009) It was very muddy but fun!

Two of our Rock Creek Riders made the newspaper (the Cleveland Daily Banner) Jessica Johnson & Hannah Evans both had their picture in the paper! WHAA-HOO score two up for the Rock Creek Riders! Go Team Go!!

Like always the spectators all loved watching and cheering for our young riders. On Friday night Jessica Johnson (my baby & daddy’s girl) ran through the mud like it was nothing! She ran a 19 sec around those barrels!!! On Saturday her horse gave her some trouble and looked as though he was going to start bucking her, the crowd gasped, then my little cowgirl gained control of her horse and completed her ride with a 24 sec. We were so proud of her! WHAAA-HOOOO THAT’S MY BABY! Madison Ware (one of my girls, daughter of Jay & Carla Ware) On Friday night she ran a 24 sec with her new horse! She is doing GREAT at riding with here new horse and we are proud of her!!! Looking good out there Madison! (note: Madison was unable to attend Saturday night with us.) Hannah Evans (one of my girls, daughter of Perk Evans) On Friday night started off with a rocky start, but pulled it off with a strong will to ride and run those barrels, she did AWESOME in making her horse complete the task. On Saturday night Hannah and Bandit just weren’t getting along very well, but she will “cowgirl-up” and “shake it off”. Because that’s the “cowgirl way” You have to keep your chin up and move on. The crowd paid her off with cheers because of her cowgirl style! Good job Hannah! Emma Gobble (one of my girls, daughter of Taylor & Terra Gobble) started off with a rocky start also, but managed to control her horse and complete the task. On Saturday night Emma whipped Starlight in line and ran those barrels. She showed the crowd that she was definitely a COWGIRL. Good Job Emma! On Friday night Brooke Davis (one of my girls, daughter of Mike & Janelle Davis) started off bad with Starlight, but she didn’t give up! She just “cowgirled-up” came back on Saturday night and showed the crowd what a cowgirl she really is!!! She whipped Starlight in line and took off around those barrels, I was so excited to she her improve so much that I can’t tell you what her time was or if she even got one!
The spectators were so AWESOME at cheering for our Rock Creek Riders, even though, some may have made mistakes or took a little longer to complete the barrels but here at Rock Creek Stables “Giving up” is not in our vocabulary and the girls are learning this with every ride. They all have to start somewhere, so what we teach them at Rock Creek Stables is: First we are all a team and cheer for our team mates, second we only look at our own accomplishments and set our goals from there, third we NEVER EVER GIVE UP WE MUST COWGIRL UP (if we had boys theirs would be NEVER EVER GIVE UP WE MUST COWBOY UP) and forth we live to ride and ride to live!!!!!!

To all of our Rock Creek Riders, YOU ALL DID AWESOME AT THE RODEO!!!!! We are sooooooo PROUD of YOU ALL!!!!

The Rock Creek Riders will be attending the 28th Annual Taylor’s Ruritan Rodeo!!! They will be riding the barrels as exhibitioners in the Rodeo to show off all that they have learned to family and friends.

Jessica Johnson age 9 will be riding Romeo her Appaloosa gelding. He has just been training for barrels and they are currently trying to get used to one another. They have been “turning & burning” the arenas up in surrounding counties including here in Bradley County at Rock Creek Stables where they have been practicing for this weekend. I know my baby is going to be running like the wind to show off for her grandparents!!

Hannah Evans age 8 will be riding Bandit a Paint gelding, one of our Rock Creek Stable horses used for lessons. He responds well to Hannah and they have come a long way with each other. They have won a lot of ribbons together in many shows in surrounding counties and here in Bradley County as well, but this is their FIRST rodeo EVER. We cannot wait to see them “turn & burn” around the barrels to show off all they have learned.

Madison Ware age 9 will be riding Trixie, her NEW horse!!! Madison just started lessons this year and is a natural when it comes to horsemanship. She just purchased Trixie and they are a great team!!! They have ran in several Little Pro Youth Rodeo’s together and are ready to show everyone what a great team they are. I know they can’t wait to show off this weekend.

Emma Gobble age 8 will be riding Starlight an Arabian mare, another one of Rock Creek Stable horse used for lessons. Emma has been taking lessons at Rock Creek Stables and LOVES Starlight. They have attended and ran/shown in horse shows in surrounding counties including Bradley County, but this is their FIRST real rodeo!! I know they will do AWESOME this weekend.

Brooke Davis age 9 will also be riding Starlight, which is her new found LOVE. Brooke has been riding at Rock Creek Stables for quite some time now and this weekend will be her FIRST Rodeo EVER. She has attended one show with us at the Apison Saddle Club (the Hartland Ranch), and won 1st place in one of the events in her very first show!!! I’m sure Brooke’s parents are going to be very excited to see her “fly like an eagle”.

We (all of us at Rock Creek Stables) are very proud of our Rock Creek Riders and we are sure they will all run away with your hearts as you watch them show off their riding talents this weekend (Friday & Saturday, Aug. 28 & 29) at the 28th Annual Taylor’s Ruritan Rodeo. Hope to see you all there! Check back with us to see all the pictures I will be taking of our little cowgirls!!

Rodeo Information:
28th Annual Taylor’s Ruritan Rodeo
Location: Old Kinser Road, Cleveland, TN (just off HWY 64)
The Rodeo’s Grand Entry starts at 8:00pm
Ticket Info:
General Admission Adults $10.00
Ages 7 to 12 $6.00
Children 6 and under Free
It was held in Sevierville, TN at the Sevier County Fairgrounds. Two of our students (here at Rock Creek Stables) Jessica Johnson and Madison Ware are members of the Little Pro Youth Rodeo whom are competing for a Belt Buckle & an All Around Saddle, not to mention money payoffs each night if you win 1st, 2nd, or 3rd place. We made lots of friends and look forward to seeing them again at the next Rodeo. If you are interested in taking lessons and joining the fun here at Rock Creek Stables, LLC contact us.
